If you could have FELT readers check out one song of yours, what would it be?: My new song "New Sound"
Tough question - what is your ultimate favorite album of all time?: Refused: Shape of Punk to Come
What is the best show you've ever played, and why?: 72,000+ people at the Vive Latino festival in Mexico city, 2001. Playing for that many people as they were not just crowd surfing but literally walking across people's heads, bonfires, and people being tossed up into the air 4 stories from a trampoline style blanket controlled by 50 people. I got just as much entertainment as they did. It was a really neat spectacle.
Is there a song that will make you cry, 9 times out of 10, if you let it? : "I will always love you" but ONLY the Dolly Parton version. It was the song my dad and I danced to at my wedding.
If you had a song that just didn't want to be finished, which group would you call in to wrap that sucker up - The Bee Gees or The Eagles? : The Eagles
why?: there are a lot of terrible bands out there...."any band ever" is just like....setting me up for potential disaster of epic proportions
If you could see one person in the audience when you perform, who would that be? What would they be wearing?: Not sure of the question so I'll do my best. If the question is, in general who do i see in the audience? Usually the tallest person that isn't moving. If i could see anyone in my audience if i could choose it would be my dad. He just passed away. He'd be wearing an XL Save Ferris shirt :)
Any bands you think people should seek out and pay attention to?: Not sure of anything current, but if I were telling young people how to fill their vinyl collection, I'd insist on a bunch of Clash.
What is your comic relief on the road? A band member, Netflix, prank phone call podcasts, etc?: Alex Mathias. Our Irish Sax player. He's a good sport, god bless him.

What do you get when you cross traditional Mariachi music with Punk rock snarl and attitude?
The answer: Pancho Villa’s Skull. Pancho Villa’s Skull was started by Tino Ybarra in 2011. While growing up in Pontiac, Michigan, Tino developed a love from Mariachi music through his grandfather on his mother’s side who, sang and played trumpet. He also, spent time in south Texas with his paternal grandfather who took him across the border to Mexico from time to time so, he could know where he came from. As, he got older he started playing in punk and ska bands around Detroit yet, he wanted to feel more connected to his roots. Inspired by bands like Gogol Bordello and The Pogues, both of whom looked into their own pasts to create something new, he decided to create what he calls Mariachi punk and started Pancho Villa’s Skull. At the beginning of 2016 his brother Rolando Ybarra joined the band to play percussion and added to the sound heavily. Making the sound bigger but, maintaining a stripped down feel. 2016 is what they are calling their “Pata de Perro” year because, they have been all over the east coast, and the Midwest! So, ponganse trucha compas! They are probably hitting your town next!! DOORS|8pm|COVER|$5|ALL AGES

Exploding from (the suburbs of) Detroit rock city in 2001, and venturing to the absolute bottom of the rabbit hole by 2015, Downtown Brown (DTB) has carved a unique saga over their 14-year existence. Jamming a mutant style that splices together punk, funk, metal, rock, and hip-hop, DTB is a band impossible to categorize. People tend to either love them, hate them, or are just generally puzzled by their often politically incorrect, outrageous, satiric lyrics coupled with genre-hopping technical skill. Zander Michigan is a folk/Americana singer/songwriter from Detroit, MI. He plays the guitar, the harmonica, and sometimes even plays the fool. His Bob Dylan style vocals, heavy strum, and cheeky lyrics make him a classic sounding musician in an age of futuristic banter. CW50 Detroit recently added Zander Michigan to a local music playlist saying, "American folk at its finest. Zander brings us the traditional bluesy folk that we’re all so familiar with."
